I plan on testing the actual capabilities and real world applications of AI tools, particularly for buyside investors. I will be trying various AI tools regularly and posting updates so that readers can stay on top of improvements. I am not a coder but have over a decade of experience on the buyside and hope to apply these tools in a way that will be informative to “non-tech” users in finance. In the process, I will be learning how to use these tools better and ideally readers learn along the way too.

Hopefully, these reviews help those already in the industry and those aspiring to enter the world of finance during a time when a lot of young people are nervous about the impact of AI on future roles and staffing levels across the industry. It’s the hot new thing to post a demo video and caption “analysts are cooked” or “1 analyst will be doing the work of 6 in the near future”, but I think its more useful to take the time to learn about the capabilities of these tools in the context of real, nuanced workflows to enhance your productivity and prepare for how roles in the industry may change.
